Important & Interesting
Notes
You will want to bring a way to contain your kitten for its ride to it's
new home. You can purchase a pet taxi at PetSmart or even bring a small
box with holes to keep your new kitten safe & secure for it's ride home.
Never switch your kittens diet abruptly. Always introduce new foods slowly
by adding a small amount of the new food to the food that it has been
eating & then gradually increasing the amount of the new food over time,
until you have completely switched to the new food.
We recommend that you not let your kitten sample people food until they
are at least 6 months old. Any time you introduce a new food to your cat
you should pay close attention to make sure that what you are feeding
it does not have undesired results on the cat. You will also want to make
sure that the food is providing adequate nutrition & the cat continues
to thrive & be healthy with whatever food you decide to feed it.
When introducing the kitten to it's new home, place the kitten in it's
litter box. Let it explore its surroundings from there. It is also a good
idea to take the kitten back to the litter box & place it inside of it
for a few times throughout the day, on the first day at it's new home.
Interesting Notes
For training your cat to use the toilet instead of the litter box, we
have been told that this is an easy method that you can try. We've had
a few people who have bought kittens from us use this method with great
success. =) You can purchase a Toilet Hat Specimen Collection at http://www.vitalitymedical.com/kendall-specimen-collection-hat.html
Use this collection hat as the cats litter box with it installed in the
toilet. Place the litter inside the hat, not too much but enough for the
cat to be able to use & place it in the toilet. Show the cat where it's
litter is & let it use the litter box there. =) After about 3 weeks of
allowing the cat to use this as the litter box, you can remove the hat
& litter & the cat will continue to use the toilet even without the litter
or the hat being there. =)
